MLi Environmental has joined with a network of approved and certified radioactive waste disposal outlets. When a radioactive material leaves your facility with MLi Environmental, its disposal is in full compliance with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and all state and federal regulations.
What is Radioactive Waste?
Radioactive waste is a hazardous waste that has a negative impact on most forms of life and the environment. The composition of this waste is derived from a number of unstable configurations of elements that decay and emit radiation.
What Can We Dispose Of?
Radioactive materials come from a number of sources. At MLi, we are able to dispose of naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM) and Low-Level Radioactive Waste (LLRW). Examples of these wastes include, but are not limited to:
- Uranium Compounds
- Thorium Compounds
- Ionization Chamber Smoke Detectors containing Americium-24
- Biological Specimens
- Tritium Gas Exit Signs
- Scintillation Fluid
- Mixed Waste (Radioactive & Hazardous)
- Radioactive Alpha, Beta, & Gamma Sources
